From October all doors need to comply with new Building Regulations. But few door manufacturers are getting ready for the fact that a replacement door in England and Wales must have a U-value of at least 1.8 and 1.6 in Scotland. More importantly, proof of compliance is required too.The Door Team has been preparing for this for the past 18 months with the Building Research Establishment (BRE), and we are now issuing an independently calculated U-value certificate, specific to the door you have ordered. When you order your door you will automatically get a certificate for that door with a picture of the door, the order number, the U-value, and the BRE logo. Every door scores within the 1.8 limit, in fact some even score 1.0. This is available now, ahead of the new legislation. Whilst uncertainty has produced no action from many composite door suppliers, and inaccurate sweeping statements from many others, The Door Team is clearly the safe option for composite doors that comply with legislation... |
